   1972 was a landmark year for women in higher education administration. Not only did congress enact the Title IX amendment in 1972, but it was also the year that the Department of Health, Education and Welfare issued its first set of Affirmative Action regulations for higher education institutions. It was during this year that HERS was born.
To commemorate forty years of women’s advancement in higher education administration, HERS will hold several special events in 2012. These events will celebrate the many achievements of HERS over the last forty years as well as lay the foundation for the next forty years |
