HERS Institutes and special activities are supported by a variety of individuals and organizations. Among these are individual contributors who pledged over $65,000 to the Cynthia Secor President's Discretionary Fund honoring the retirement of the HERS founding Director. In addition individuals and HERS Institute classes have made generous contributions towards support of future participants. Key to HERS continued activity and growth is the commitment of dozens of institutions to send participants on a regular basis. These colleges and universities benefit while they also contribute to HERS financial independence. Finally, for special projects HERS has been supported by a number of foundations and corporate donations, these include The William H. Donner Foundation, Bush Foundation, and, most recently, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation which has funded the HERS Archives project and the development of our sister organization in South Africa, HERS-SA.
