The HERS Summit for Women Presidents & Chancellors took place April 10-12, 2014 in our home city of Denver. Sixty-five women presidents and chancellors and other women leaders in higher education gathered to reflect on their experiences leading transformative change in higher education and to explore new ways that we can all contribute to the advancement of female leaders in all sectors. We have invited two of these women leaders to share their insights from the Summit and their own experiences leading in higher education. Dr. Daisy Cocco De Filippis is President of Naugatuck Valley Community College in Connecticut; Dr. Susan Henking is President of Shimer College in Chicago. Their reflections are very different but they are connected through their shared passion of changing the world through the power of women leading.
